About KBM
Photography has always been a
special interest in my life. But Fine Art Black & White Photography
has become a passion that I have followed since 2000. Finding art
in nature and capturing it on film feels sensational and exciting.
Bringing an image to life in the darkroom can be absolutely enrapturing.
I strive to make my prints represent, as close as possible, what
I actually found out in nature.
Most of my study of photography
has taken place in Southern California. My passion for photography,
natural landscapes, and constant learning motivates me to go to
extraordinary places. One of my favorites is the tropical paradise
of Hawaii. The landscapes and the native people are both enchanting.
I started exploring photography and gained valuable experience using
a 35mm camera. I now achieve a much higher professional quality
picture using a medium format Mamiya camera.
I really enjoy working with
my medium format camera. The negatives are much larger than the
regular 35mm. In the darkroom a print can be enlarged on a larger
scale and not lose sharpness. The photographic print is able to
show nicely defined contrast and fine detail you can not get by
using a smaller negative.
I believe the true beauty of
a photograph can only be captured, in it’s purist form, in a traditional
darkroom. Handcrafting allows each creation to be it’s own unique
piece of artwork.
PHOTOGRAPHY:
the process or technique of creating an image on light sensitive
surfaces.
The art of taking and printing photographs.
PHOTOGRAPH:
an image formed on a light sensitive surface by a camera
and is developed chemically to produce a positive print.
My prints are true photographs. I hope you see
their natural beauty and enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating
them.
